Brayton Holt, the co-author of ‘The Birds of Montgomeryshire’ is giving a talk and slide presentation on ‘Birds of the Vyrnwy Valley’ in Meifod Village Hall at 7.30pm on Friday 22nd July.
As the county representative of the British Trust for Ornithology for some thirteen years and the official county recorder of birds he has a wealth of knowledge of local bird life which will fascinate anyone who loves our Mid-Wales countryside and wants to know more of the rich bird life within it.
Brayton is currently helping to compile the Vyrnwy Valley section of a Bird Atlas of Breeding and Wintering Birds which is a joint venture by the B.T.O., R.S.P.B. and Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. He is giving the talk highlighting bird identification in the area and the funds raised will go to the Montgomeryshire Against Pylons’ fight against wind farm, sub-station and power lines development.
